In this workshop you will:

- Gain a basic understanding of the knee anatomy
- Understand the importance of "proper" alignment and learn how to keep your knees safe in yoga practice
- Explore ways of how yoga can help stabilise/strengthen this large hinge joint and reduce/eliminate chronic pain.
‘Yoga for a Healthy Mind’: 16th November 2019
This workshop will take you into the true essence of yoga, i.e. “the restraint of the fluctuations of the mind”, with the objective of achieving a harmonious peaceful mind. You will:

- Learn about the three qualities of the mind – the gunas - according to yoga philosophy and how today’s neuroscience of self-regulation converges with ancient yogic wisdom.
- Gain a better understanding of your own personal nature according to the gunas
- Experiment with different yogic techniques (postures, breath and meditation) to build resilience and restore harmony.

- Learn how to assess your own imbalances that may cause neck and shoulder pain
- Practise a simple yet effective therapeutic yoga routine to relieve general neck & shoulder pain.
- Learn about the anatomy in order to understand the most common causes for neck and shoulder pain. We will address issues mentioned in the questionnaires and practise appropriate exercises for these conditions.
- Feel the benefits of movements, proper breathing and relaxation on your neck and shoulders, and whole being.

- Learn how you can use the breath to trigger the relaxation response and impact on your heart health
- Learn which yoga postures are recommended to maintain and improve the health of the cardiovascular system
